15 Best Minecraft Bedrock Quality of Life Addons for a Smooth Sailing

Explore the most popular Minecraft Bedrock quality-of-life addons for faster travel, easier building, better storage, and smoother survival.

15 Best Minecraft Bedrock Quality of Life Addons for a Smooth Sailing

A new base, a deeper mine, or a distant expedition often starts with a simple plan. Repeated clicks, crowded storage, and a long trip back to familiar coordinates soon take time away from the goal.

Quality-of-life addons speed up those routines without making survival feel unfamiliar. Ore veins now break together, a torch lights up the cave ahead by simply holding it, and you gain the ability to move chests with every item still inside. You spend less time managing small tasks and more time finishing what you started, but knowing which addons deliver on that is the hard part.

Community downloads decide the order of our 15 picks, from small focused fixes to larger utility packs built for solo worlds, Realms, and busy multiplayer servers. Whether you want faster travel, easier building, smarter storage, or just fewer wasted clicks, there is a pick on this list built around exactly that.

1. System Dynamic Light

System Dynamic Light Addon

The “System Dynamic Light” addon fixes the frustrating moment every miner knows: torch in hand, yet no light emanating from it. This addon generates light whenever you are holding a torch, lantern, glowstone, lava bucket, or another supported item in either hand. Right-click the air with an empty off-hand to swap a light source across and free up your main hand for combat.

Drop a torch and the ground underneath stays lit too, and even the mobs light up: Blazes, Magma Cubes, Glow Squids, and anything else on fire brightens the blocks around it. The configuration book goes deep if you want to tune things further, covering light priority, off-hand placement, dropped item limits, entity lighting, item details, and which dimensions the effect applies to.

2. More Body Actions + Pickup & Carry!

More Body Actions + Pickup & Carry! Addon

This “More Body Actions + Pickup & Carry!” addon turns your character from a stiff walking camera into something that moves through the world. Look down and sneak to sit, look up and sneak to lie down, then move forward to crawl, and jump mid-crawl to switch positions or squeeze through a one block gap. With both hands empty, walk up to a wall, look slightly upward, and jump to grab the edge and climb.

That same empty-hand trick lets you pick up another player or mob. In "Survival" mode, sneaking and jumping while breaking a chest, furnace, dispenser, or other storage block lets you carry the whole thing to a new spot without emptying the items inside!

3. Multiplayer Waypoint System!

Multiplayer Waypoint System! Addon

The “Multiplayer Waypoint System!” addon solves the problem every server regular runs into: knowing exactly where your base is and still needing ten minutes to walk back to it. This addon adds a "Waypoint Menu", through which you can create points inside the map and teleport to them. Each point also shows how far away it is and the direction to follow on your compass, and you can also raise your personal limit all the way up to 999 waypoints through the world settings.

Players also publish waypoints for shops, bases, farms, or any destination worth sharing. Public entries track visits, support favorites, and give owners a separate blacklist for each location, while reports and moderation tools help hosts keep an eye on suspicious entries.

Hosts get their own set of controls too: waypoint limits, teleport countdowns, camera effects, and XP or scoreboard fees for travel, creation, and coordinate updates. Players have to stand still during each countdown, which keeps waypoint travel from turning into an instant escape hatch mid-fight.

4. Edds' VeinCapitator

Edds' VeinCapitator Addon

“Edds' VeinCapitator” turns a full ore vein or a whole tree into one sneaking break instead of dozens of individual swings. Hold a pickaxe for ore or an axe for logs, crouch, and break the first block, and every connected block follows it down automatically.

Your enchantments carry over normally, so Fortune, Silk Touch, and Unbreaking all still work exactly as expected. Turn on "Vein Miner", "Tree Capitator", or both from the pack settings, and most custom tools work too since the addon reads item identifiers directly, with extra support built in for “All In One Tool” and “Core Craft”.

5. VDX: Java/Desktop UI

VDX: Java/Desktop UI Addon

“VDX: Java/Desktop UI” is for anyone who moved to Bedrock and never quite got used to leaving Java's menus behind. It swaps out Bedrock's inventory screens and interface for layouts styled after Java Edition, and it comes in three flavors depending on how far you want to take it.

"Desktop UI" sticks closest to the Java look. "Mixed UI" keeps more of Bedrock's original interface while folding in Java and Legacy Console elements. "PvP UI" recreates the Java Edition 1.8 style, chat and scoreboard backgrounds included.

A handful of newer Bedrock screens, including "Play", "Create World", and the death screen, now run on a system resource packs cannot touch, so those specific menus stay in the default Bedrock look no matter which variant you use.

6. Holograms on dropped items!

Holograms on dropped items! Addon

“Holograms on dropped items!” fixes the classic loot pile mess the moment you drop a stack mid-fight and cannot tell what is what without picking through everything. Every new drop gets a floating label showing its item name and stack count, and raycasting keeps labels hidden behind blocks or tall grass so text only shows up once the item is in your line of sight.

Enter "/function itemsHolograms_config" to open the settings window, where you choose between labeling every nearby item or only the one under your crosshair. The same menu covers viewing distance, label limits, font size, colors, prefixes, suffixes, and text patterns. Turning it on only affects new drops going forward, so anything already on the ground stays as it was.

7. Raiyon's Java Saturation & Regeneration

Raiyon's Java Saturation & Regeneration Addon

The “Raiyon's Java Saturation & Regeneration” addon brings back a decision Bedrock survival lost somewhere along the way: what you eat after a fight changes how fast you heal. The addon ports over Java's saturation and health recovery system, where higher saturation means faster regeneration, and it makes the gap between foods real again: a golden carrot gives 14 saturation points, while bread only gives 6.

The standard version adds a saturation counter above your hunger bar so you always see how much recovery you have banked, while the "No-UI" version runs the same system underneath without the extra counter, which keeps it out of the way if you are already running another interface pack.

8. True Backpack

True Backpack Addon

The “True Backpack” addon gives you 27 portable storage slots right away, and Pocket Upgrades take it further from there, each tier adding nine more slots until you reach 72 with the Netherite upgrade. Interact with it to open the storage, wear it on your back, recolor the standard design with dyes, or switch to one of the animal and seasonal styles.

The Magnet upgrade pulls nearby drops straight into storage so you stop chasing loot across the floor, while the Return and Soul Bond upgrades both solve the classic death-run problem in different ways: Return drops the backpack at your death location, and Soul Bond keeps it on you through death instead.

Return and Soul Bond cannot run together though, so we recommend picking whichever fits your playstyle. The addon also adds a friend option, limited to players with operator rank, and can share access with chosen players without opening the backpack to everyone.

9. Bedrock Essentials+

Bedrock Essentials+ Addon

The “Bedrock Essentials+” addon trims the small annoyances out of a normal survival run. Sneak to trigger Tree Capitator or Vein Miner, open both halves of a double door from the lower block alone, and harvest crops that replant themselves automatically. Anvil repair and a survival recipe for the flashlight round out the quality-of-life additions around your base.

After death, the addon posts your coordinates straight to chat so you are not left guessing where to run back to. A Silk Touch pickaxe also picks up mob spawners here, and automatic item pickup stays off by default: toggle it with "/pickup enable" and switch it back off with "/pickup disable" whenever you want loot to sit on the ground instead.

10. Silk Touch Spawners!

Silk Touch Spawners! Addon

“Silk Touch Spawners!” frees you from building your whole base around wherever a spawner happens to generate. Break it with a Silk Touch pickaxe, collect the spawner as a real item, and place the same mob type anywhere you want it instead. Just note that the default setup limits this ability to Netherite pickaxes only.

Enter "/function config_silkspawners" to open the settings window, where you choose which pickaxe tiers qualify and set the drop chance anywhere from 1 to 100%, with the default sitting at 100%.

11. Durability Armor Viewer

Durability Armor Viewer Addon

“Durability Armor Viewer” answers the question you usually only ask after your chestplate already broke: how much longer is this going to last? The addon keeps your equipment status right on the HUD, covering equipped armor and the off-hand slot, so remaining durability or stack count stays visible before something gives out.

Subpacks let you change the layout without touching a single file: show armor only, isolate the off-hand slot, place everything beside the hotbar, or match the hotbar style outright. The interface runs on flat item images, so enchantment glint and armor trims will not show up, and custom armor needs its identifiers and textures added manually. The required "UI Neck" pack completes the interface.

12. Fast Craft & Fast Loot

Fast Craft & Fast Loot Addon

“Fast Craft & Fast Loot” exists for the exact moment you are making the fiftieth arrow in a row and your finger is tired of clicking. Press the "Fast Craft" button once to churn out several copies of the same item instead, and the shortcut shows up everywhere you would want it: your inventory, the item creation screen, the stonecutter, and villager trading.

Turn on "Fast Loot" and a single click moves a whole stack between your inventory and an open container, no dragging required, and it works across container screens in both "Classic" and "Pocket" interfaces. Subpacks let you enable either feature on its own or run both together.

13. Effortless Building

Effortless Building Addon

“Effortless Building” takes the tedium out of building anything bigger than a small room, since two or three clicks now produce a full structure instead of hundreds of individual block placements, all pulled correctly from your "Survival" inventory. Fourteen modes cover lines, walls, floors, circles, spheres, semicircles, cubes, cylinders, cones, slopes, diagonal builds, copy and paste, and air placement, so pick a mode, set your anchor points, and confirm the shape.

Large selections preview as a bounding box while you aim and fill in fully once you settle on a spot, and the setup wizard walks you through a low, mid, or high preset for preview quality and operation size. Enter "/setup" any time to reopen the wizard, or "/guide" for a short walkthrough of your first build.

Mirror, Array, and Radial modifiers repeat your placements into symmetrical patterns automatically, and the block palette pulls from your hotbar or inventory across 21 patterns of its own. Copy, cut, paste, destroy, "/undo", and "/redo" give you room to experiment freely, and the Clipboard Manager holds up to 20 named selections between sessions so a build you liked stays saved instead of gone for good.

14. DoubleHands

DoubleHands Addon

The “DoubleHands” addon stops your off-hand from sitting there doing almost nothing. Place blocks and liquids, plant crops, strike flint and steel, empty buckets, throw supported projectiles, and launch fireworks straight from your left hand, while your main hand keeps priority for stripping logs, tilling soil, shooting bows, and similar actions that need it.

Swap the active item across with the "Over There" emote, a quick double sneak, the "/swap" command, or your own keyboard shortcut, and a visible off-hand slot keeps track of what you are holding. Supported glowing items even carry their own dynamic lighting, so a torch in your off-hand lights up the room too.A couple of rough edges are worth knowing about: food only works from the main hand, nearby item frames occasionally break during off-hand block placement, and flower pots sometimes end up floating in midair.

15. Just Zoom

Just Zoom Addon

“Just Zoom” gets you a long-distance view without digging a spyglass out of your inventory every time. Add "/zoom" to the "Macro Command" setting, bind it to your preferred key, and press the shortcut whenever you need a closer look at something far off.

Enter "/setting" to change the trigger to a held stick, an item named "zoom", sneaking, or double sneaking, and the same menu also controls the zoom sound and cinematic effect.

How to Install Minecraft Addons

You can install Bedrock addons automatically from the official Minecraft Marketplace or manually by downloading them from a trusted source like the CurseForge website. For each of the addons above, open the linked project page and download its associated “.mcaddon” file. Opening the downloaded file should launch Minecraft and begin the import.

After the import finishes, edit the world and check both "Behavior Packs" → "Available" and "Resource Packs" → "Available". If all went well, activating the packs included with the addon should add its features to that world. If the project lists an experiment under "Requirements", you should enable it as well before loading the world.

Common Issues and Quick Fixes

My addon was imported, but does not appear

Importing an addon does not activate its packs for a world. Try editing the world and checking both "Behavior Packs" → "Available" and "Resource Packs" → "Available". Some projects place files in both menus, so make sure to activate every included pack.

My addon only shows part of its features

Some projects split their files across separate downloads. Try importing every file from the same release and removing older copies. In our experience, one outdated pack can often cause missing textures, menus, or scripts.

My menus or HUD elements overlap

“VDX: Java/Desktop UI”, “Durability Armor Viewer”, and “Fast Craft & Fast Loot” edit interface files, while “Raiyon's Java Saturation & Regeneration” adds a saturation counter. Because of this, we recommend trying one interface pack at a time. One good approach is to use the "No-UI" saturation version when another pack already changes the HUD, and keep "UI Neck" active for "Durability Armor Viewer".

My addon says Beta APIs are missing

“More Body Actions + Pickup & Carry!”, “Multiplayer Waypoint System!”, “Holograms on dropped items!”, and “Silk Touch Spawners!” all require “Beta APIs” to work properly. Try enabling the experiment in the world settings before loading the world again.

My controls or commands do not respond

“Effortless Building” uses "/setup", "/guide", and "/menu". “DoubleHands” uses "/swap", while “Just Zoom” uses "/zoom" through the "Macro Command" setting. To fix this, you can try the addon file matching your Bedrock release and enter each command exactly as shown.

My addon conflicts with another pack

Two addons can sometimes edit the same player, interface, or script file. To avoid overlaps, try loading one addon at a time to identify the pair. For example, “More Body Actions + Pickup & Carry!” uses "player.json", so another pack editing the same file will result in a conflict.

My world slows down after activation

Dynamic lights, item labels, and large building previews add more strain on your device. Try lowering light and label limits, reducing waypoint effects, or choosing "Minimal" preview quality in “Effortless Building” to see if any of these changes will result in improved FPS.

If that doesn’t help, try to also temporarily disable other packs during testing.

My backpack or custom items suddenly disappeared

Removing an addon also removes its associated blocks, items, or stored inventory created by the pack. We suggest removing addons in a copied world first to avoid issues later on. If the content has already vanished, make sure to re-activate the same addon version long enough to empty the backpack or move valuable items into standard storage.
