What Is Botania Used For?
Botania is a magic-themed tech mod that blends nature and automation. Instead of traditional machines or power systems, it introduces mana as a resource generated through flowers and used to automate gameplay, craft powerful tools, and progress through a magical tech tree. It's widely used in modpacks as a magic alternative to redstone or tech-based mods.
What Do You Get from Botania?
Botania gives players access to a range of magical items and tools that blend fantasy with automation. These include functional flowers that perform tasks like block breaking or mob farming, mana-based gear like the Terra Blade or Manasteel Armor, and utility items like rings, cloaks, and rods. It also integrates well with automation setups and often plays a key role in mid-to-late-game progression in many modpacks.
Can You Fly with Botania?
Yes, you can fly using Botania’s Flügel Tiara, a powerful end-game accessory. Once equipped, it grants creative-style flight for up to 30 seconds, consuming a high amount of Mana. After the flight duration ends, the tiara enters a cooldown period before it can be used again. It also allows a mid-air dash for mobility. While using the Flügel Tiara doesn't passively consume mana outside of flight, crafting it requires rare materials obtained from defeating the Gaia Guardian, making it a significant reward for late-game progression.
What Do Cloaks Do in Botania?
Cloaks in Botania are trinket items that provide passive buffs. Each cloak is themed after a different alignment and grants a unique effect, like damage reflections, defense against certain damage types, or the ability to turn invisible. They're typically crafted with wool blocks, Gaia Spirit, which is a boss drop, and a specific material like Redstone, Glowstone Dust, Emerald, or Prismarine Crystals - depending on the cloak’s effect.
How to Make Living Rock Botania?
To make Livingrock, place regular Stone blocks next to a Pure Daisy – a functional flower in Botania obtained through the Petal Apothecary by placing Wheat Seeds and four Mystical White Petals. After about a minute, the Pure Daisy will transform those stone blocks into Livingrock. This process is crucial in early Botania progression and is also used to make many of the mod’s crafting components, such as Mana Pools.
