CurseForge in 2025
This year, more creators than ever chose CurseForge to share their work, and we are honored to grow alongside them.
From massive modding contests to new games entering the platform, 2025 was all about spotlighting authors and the content they bring to life. We saw the launch of Mod of the Year, hosted Minecraft’s first large-scale ModJam with over 50 winners, expanded our content features across titles like ARK, Sims, inZOI, and Hogwarts Legacy, and built tools that make sharing, earning, and updating mods easier.
But none of it matters without the community: the gamers who support creators, the modders who keep imagining new experiences, and the feedback from all of you that helps us improve.
In 2026, we’re taking this momentum further, expanding into new games, improving the author experience across tools and payouts, and doubling down on the principle that great content should be celebrated and supported.

December Feature Highlights
December has been quietly powerful when it comes to platform improvements, with new features across the app, website, and author console. Let’s review some of the more prominent features:
Authors Console - 2FA & Reward Settings
Two-Factor Authentication now lives directly in the new Authors Console, making it faster and more reliable. Authors can also now opt into (or out of) the Reward Program from the same place.
Website - Homepage Refresh
We’ve refreshed the CurseForge homepage to make it easier to discover what matters most. The new homepage highlights more games than before, and key stats across the games we support, while showcasing CurseForge’s core pillars. Check it out!
App - Individual Mod Locking in Modpacks
You can now lock specific mods within a pack to avoid unwanted updates or changes - giving modpack creators more control.
Some Upcoming Features:
- App - Profile version change, allowing the duplication of modpacks and the upgrading/downgrading of Minecraft versions.
- Authors Console - Sidebar navigation for the Authors Console, including a new balance tracker and reward program guide.
- Authors Console - Author dashboard overhaul, with unique downloads, longer timelines, and richer data insights.
