15 Best Minecraft Java Village Seeds to Explore

Discover 15 of the best Minecraft Java village seeds, with coordinates for zombie villages, clustered villages, and rare finds, plus mods worth adding.

15 Best Minecraft Java Village Seeds to Explore

If we’re being honest, some villages are barely worth the walk: a handful of houses, one so-so blacksmith chest, and a single villager mumbling about carrots.

Others turn into a real trading hub, a genuine rarity worth the detour, or a landmark generating right in the middle of everything else. The difference between those two starts is nothing you did right or wrong. It simply all comes down to the seed you loaded.

Join us as we count down 15 of the best Java Edition village seeds and their exact coordinates, plus learn how to load a seed yourself and discover mods that help you get even more out of your villagers once you've found them.

1. Two Zombie Villages Standing Side by Side

Aerial view of two villages close together in a foggy grassy valley near a pond, with mountains in the distance.
  • World Seed: 67480912992
  • Zombie Village: 16, 0
  • Zombie Village: 0, -144
  • Village: -416, 32

Only 2% of villages generate as the abandoned, zombie-populated variant, so finding one at all is a genuine rarity. This seed hands you two right off the bat, standing close enough to check both in the same walk time, with a normal plains village not far off if you would rather start somewhere with actual living villagers and iron golems.

Both villages are missing their doors and torches, and neither spawns an iron golem naturally. Curing the zombie villagers here is the actual reward: throw a Splash Potion of Weakness at one, then feed it a golden apple, and it turns back into a normal villager.

That cure gives you a permanent trading discount to go along with it – one that never decays and can knock some of its trades down to as little as 1 emerald!

2. Four Villages Fused Into One Settlement

Aerial view of several village houses merged into one large settlement on open plains, connected by dirt paths.
  • World Seed: -3361685360695458093
  • Village: 0, 0
  • Village: -144, 0
  • Village: 0, -144
  • Village: -144, -144
  • Pillager Outpost: 64, -320

For this one, we have four separate villages built so close together that the borders between them almost disappear. A lake sits right in the middle of the whole cluster, with paths connecting every corner of it, while a pillager outpost keeps a respectable distance from the town itself.

3. Four Desert Villages Around Three Pyramids

Aerial view of a desert landscape with a winding river and reddish badlands cliffs, distant village rooftops visible near the horizon.
  • World Seed: 486362209
  • Desert Village: 0, 0
  • Desert Village: 48, -144
  • Desert Village: -192, 32
  • Desert Village: -144, -176
  • Desert Temple: -144, 16
  • Desert Temple: 16, -240
  • Desert Temple: -328, -376

Four desert villages ring the spawn point here, packed close enough together that visiting all of them barely counts as travel.

Two desert temples sit right in the mix, and a third one turns up if you keep on exploring, handing you three separate loot rooms without leaving the area. Desert villages have a look worth seeing on their own, too: sandstone houses, dune-colored paths, and cacti standing in for fences create a picturesque image straight out of Star Wars’ Tatooine.

4. Three Savanna Villages Over a Sulfur Cave

Aerial view of a savanna village with orange rooftops among acacia trees, pale sulfur cave patches visible on the ground below.
  • World Seed: 109626954616
  • Savanna Village: 0, 0
  • Savanna Village: -176, 16
  • Savanna Village: 16, -192

A sulfur cave – one of the newer biomes added to the game – sits almost directly beneath the spawn village at 0, 0, with two more savanna villages spreading out on either side and a fourth waiting past those if you push further. It is a striking pairing for sure: acacia-wood houses up top, and an orange-tinted cave system with its own hazards down below.

Just make sure to keep your distance from any sulfur pools you find while exploring underneath. The gas rising off them inflicts the Nausea effect on anything standing in it, which makes your view wobble and warp and harder to navigate. Because of this, we recommend admiring the cave from a short way off rather than walking straight through the haze.

5. Two Snowy Villages Right at Spawn

Aerial view of snowy village houses along the shore of a frozen lake, framed by snow-capped mountain cliffs.
  • World Seed: 6969000000015129972
  • Snowy Village: 16, 16
  • Snowy Village: 16, -144
  • Igloo: 240, -208
  • Igloo: -256, 112

As the title suggests, two large snowy villages sit within 160 blocks of each other and of spawn – one on the edge of a snowy taiga, the other across a frozen river in open snowy plains. A third village sits further out for anyone who wants to push past the first two.

Two igloos nearby are worth checking for a basement, something only about half of all igloos hide. Find one and you get a brewing stand already holding a Splash Potion of Weakness, a chest with a guaranteed golden apple, and sometimes a villager and zombie villager caged behind iron bars – everything you need to cure a zombie villager without brewing a single potion yourself.

6. A Taiga Village With a Portal Built Into a House

Ground-level view of a taiga village house with a ruined portal's netherrack and fire embedded in its wall, spruce trees and snowy peaks in the background.
  • World Seed: 2990297396645658645
  • Taiga Village: 32, 0
  • Trial Chamber: 16, 0
  • Ruined Portal: 80, 0

With this one, you get a ruined Nether portal generated straight through one of this village's houses, with a Trial Chamber sitting almost directly beneath the village itself. A second, smaller village and an igloo both turn up if you keep exploring, so there is real reason to look past the first stop.

Having the portal frame already worked into a building saves you the usual scramble for obsidian on your first Nether run, and the Trial Chamber sitting this close means you can gear up for it without committing to a long expedition first.

7. Three Meadow Villages Up High in the Hills

Aerial view of a flower-covered meadow village on a hilltop, with more village rooftops visible on a distant ridge.
  • World Seed: 2355945555069077669
  • Village: 96, 96
  • Village: 0, -144
  • Village: -144, 16
  • Ruined Portal: 96, 80

Meadow villages use the same building style as a plains village, but the setting is what sells this one: three of them sit up in the hills around spawn, with a ruined portal built right into the first.

Meadows are found at a higher elevation than most village biomes, so expect a bit more vertical terrain to build around than a standard plains start, and a genuinely scenic view once you do manage to climb above the rooftops.

8. A Village Beside a Mansion and a Pale Garden

A dark, multi-story woodland mansion standing beside village houses at a cliff edge, with forest and a hazy valley below.
  • World Seed: 37021689
  • Village: 48, 112
  • Woodland Mansion: 64, 128
  • Trial Chamber: 80, 16

A Pale Garden is a genuinely rare biome to find this close to spawn, and this village sits right up against one, with a Woodland Mansion close enough to see from the village itself. That puts one of the best loot-filled rooms in the game within easy walking distance of your first houses.

We would not suggest heading into that mansion under-geared just because it is close, though. A Totem of Undying actually comes from the Evokers inside, so there is no way to already have one in hand before that first trip. We therefore recommend treating the mansion as more of a mid-game goal worth working up to, even with it being this near.

9. A Snowy Village Walled In by Ice Spikes

Aerial view of a snowy village in a valley flanked by tall pale-blue ice spikes and snowy cliffs.
  • World Seed: 105849523
  • Snowy Village: 0, 0
  • Trial Chamber: 48, 112
  • Pillager Outpost: 320, 128

Ice Spikes is a biome that normally generates well away from any village, so having one ring your starting houses is a genuine oddity. It makes for a striking, almost fenced-in look, tall blue-white spires standing guard around ordinary snowy village buildings.

A pillager outpost worth raiding sits just 345 blocks out, and a Trial Chamber only 122 blocks from spawn gives you somewhere closer to aim for once you are all geared up.

10. A Zombie Village Stranded on a Tiny Island

Aerial view of a small island village surrounded entirely by ocean, with paths extending out across the water on either side.
  • World Seed: -1169810003202779630
  • Zombie Village: 16, 16
  • Ocean Monument: 224, 112

Rather than sharing a continent with anything else, this abandoned village sits alone on a small sandy island with a wide open ocean in every direction. It is the same rare 2% zombie roll as any other abandoned village, just in a setting that turns your first days into a real survival challenge: limited building space, no easy cactus or wood run, and the sea on all sides.

An ocean monument out past the shoreline gives you a real mid-game goal once the island itself stops being enough, and the zombie villagers here cure the same way as anywhere else. A Splash Potion of Weakness, followed by a golden apple, works just fine on an island with nothing around it but water.

11. A Desert Village Buried Inside a Lush Cave

Inside a dark lush cave with glowing cave vines, sandstone village buildings visible glowing further into the cavern.
  • World Seed: -9058709175479032911
  • Desert Village: 0, 0
  • Pillager Outpost: 192, 80
  • Desert Village: 192, -368

Instead of generating on the surface, this desert village formed underground, tucked inside a lush cave complete with vegetation growing where you would not normally expect to find any.

A connected mineshaft runs right past it, and more desert villages along with a pillager outpost sit further out for anyone who wants to take a look. It is one of the stranger world generation quirks out there, and a genuinely fun one to screenshot before you start building over it.

12. A Village and a Mansion Sharing One Mountain

A dark woodland mansion perched on a snow-capped mountain cliff overlooking the ocean, with spruce forest below.
  • World Seed: 1791306751793518062
  • Taiga Village: 128, 32
  • Woodland Mansion: 128, 80
  • Trial Chamber: 112, 96

A single mountain island holds both a taiga village and a Woodland Mansion, only 50 blocks apart, with snowy peaks rising above both of them. Several shipwrecks and ocean ruins sit just offshore too, so there is plenty to explore without ever leaving the island.

As with any mansion this close to spawn, treat it as a goal to gear up for rather than an early detour – unless you like extreme difficulty.

13. A Lakeside Village Ringed by Cherry Blossoms

Aerial view of a lake in a crater ringed by cherry blossom trees, with small village structures faintly visible near the water below.
  • World Seed: 69420018030897796
  • Village: 64, 48
  • Trial Chamber: 208, 32
  • Ruined Portal: 288, 48

This is a plains-style village, but the setting around it is the real draw: a lake at the center of a caldera, with pink cherry blossom trees covering the slopes on every side. Caverns run through the surrounding mountains too, so there is more to explore than just the shoreline.

A Trial Chamber and a ruined portal both sit a short walk out, giving you real reasons to leave the lake once you are done admiring it.

14. Plains and Savanna Villages Sitting Toe to Toe

Aerial view of a plains village and a savanna village sitting on opposite sides of a narrow river, close enough to see both at once.
  • World Seed: 6969000000280359164
  • Village: 0, 0
  • Village: 32, -144
  • Pillager Outpost: -256, 96

One plains-style and one savanna-style village sit close enough here that their outer buildings nearly connect, giving you two full trading networks and two blacksmith chests within a short walk of each other.

The savanna side even has a path leading down into an amethyst geode cave. A pillager outpost and a jungle temple both sit further out too, well outside the village cluster itself.

15. A Desert Pyramid Standing Inside the Village

A sandstone desert temple standing directly among desert village houses, with acacia trees and desert brush nearby.
  • World Seed: 2265365973
  • Desert Temple: 0, 0
  • Village: 32, 0
  • Village: 320, -192

The desert temple here does not just sit nearby: it is generated directly on top of one of the village's houses, sandstone walls rising right through where the roof should be instead of standing beside it.

A second village turns up further out if the first stop is not enough. Either way, you get a real trading post right next to the temple – just watch your step around the pressure-plate trap guarding its loot room.

Note: this list was put together for Java Edition version 26.3, so we recommend playing on that version. While the same seed number produces the same terrain and biomes in Bedrock Edition, structures, some caves, and other small features may all generate differently.

Because of this, make sure to boot up Java Edition if you want the coordinates and details above to line up perfectly.

Java vs Bedrock Village Differences

A few village-specific mechanics genuinely differ between editions, worth knowing before you go looking for any of the seeds above on the wrong one.

  • Village biomes: Java villages typically generate in Plains, Savanna, Taiga, Meadow, Snowy Plains, and Desert biomes only. Bedrock adds Snowy Taiga and Sunflower Plains to that list as well, on top of any custom biome that a behavior pack may set up.
  • Outposts near villages: a pillager outpost never generates too close to, or inside, a village in Java. Bedrock allows it, so any seed advertised with an outpost sitting inside the village itself was generated in Bedrock rather than in Java.
  • Zombie sieges: these nighttime waves of zombies converging on a village only happen in Java. Bedrock has since removed that feature.

Upgrade Your Villages With These Mods

Vanilla villages leave a lot to be desired: no real defense against a raid, and a handful of building styles no matter how many seeds you load.

The five mods below aim to close those gaps, whether you want your trading partners protected, your settlements looking sharper, or your villagers moved to wherever you actually want them.

Towns and Towers

Towns and Towers Mod

“Towns and Towers” fixes the moment every explorer eventually runs into: stumbling into the same handful of village layouts over and over.

The mod adds more than fifty new structures – mostly villages and pillager outposts – directly into vanilla's own generation rules, stocked with real villager professions, working bells, and loot pulled from vanilla tables alongside custom additions.

Since it only touches newly generated chunks, “Towns and Towers” is also safe to drop into a world already running one of the villages above. New structures simply start appearing once you explore past what has already been generated, and the villages featured in this list stay exactly as they are.

Guard Villagers

Guard Villagers Mod

“Guard Villagers” gives a village a real defense instead of relying on one or two iron golems. Groups of six armed guards spawn straight into a village, carrying either a sword or a crossbow, ready to fight off raids and hostile mobs on their own.

Earn the Hero of the Village effect and you can recruit guards to follow you directly, or ring a village bell to pull every guard nearby into your squad at once. You can even crouch and right-click any nitwit or unemployed villager with a weapon in hand to turn them into a guard yourself, and open their inventory afterward to hand them armor or a shield.

ChoiceTheorem's Overhauled Village

ChoiceTheorem's Overhauled Village Mod

“ChoiceTheorem's Overhauled Village” adds 23 new village variants and 14 pillager outpost variants, each one tailored to fit the specific terrain, theme, and biome it generates in, rather than reusing the same handful of vanilla layouts everywhere.

The mod is safe to add to a world you already have running, since its structures generate separately from vanilla villages rather than replacing them, and only show up in chunks that have not been generated yet.

None of the villages on this list will change if you install it partway through.

Easy Villagers

Easy Villagers Mod

“Easy Villagers” lets you pick a villager up as an item, just by sneaking and right-clicking one, and place it back down wherever you actually want it.

That alone solves half the headache of setting up a trading hall, but the real standout is the Converter Block: feed it a golden apple, a Splash Potion of Weakness, and a normal villager, and it zombifies and cures that villager automatically over the course of about five minutes – no waiting on a natural zombie roll required.

For a seed with an abandoned zombie village already sitting on it, that turns a slow, manual cure into something you can queue up and walk away from. A built-in Trader Block also lets you trade with a villager without fencing it in, and also restocks on its own regardless of the time of day.

More Villagers

More Villagers Mod

“More Villagers” gives every village on this list something new to offer, adding professions like Oceanographer, Forester, and Miner on top of the vanilla lineup, each with its own workstation and trades you will not find anywhere else.

For example, a Hunter villager trades in monster drops like blaze rods and ghast tears, while an Enderologist deals in trades tied to the End, giving a well-stocked village a reason to keep visiting long after you have cleared out the usual blacksmith chest.

Every new profession slots into a village that already exists, so it works on any of the seeds above without changing how or where anything generates.

How to Install Minecraft Mods

You can install the above mods automatically using the CurseForge app or manually by placing the mod files within your game's mods folder. Both methods allow you to easily add custom features and enhancements into your Minecraft experience.

Common Issues and Quick Fixes

My world doesn't match what this guide shows

World generation changes with every major update. Because of this, we recommend matching your game to version 26.3 – the one every seed on this list was confirmed to work on.

My seed shows a different village than what's been described

Terrain and biomes match between Java and Bedrock on the same numeric seed, but structure placement does not carry over between editions.

A mismatch here almost always means the seed was loaded in Bedrock instead of Java, so make sure to double-check your edition before looking into specific coordinates.

I can't cure my zombie villagers

Curing takes a Splash Potion of Weakness followed by a regular golden apple, and it is not instant: expect to wait a few minutes once both are used.

A brewing stand needs a blaze rod to make, so if a Nether trip is not on the table yet, look for an igloo with a basement instead. About half of them already have a brewing stand holding a Splash Potion of Weakness, plus a chest nearby with a guaranteed golden apple inside.

The zombie village has no iron golem to speak of

This is expected behavior as abandoned villages never spawn a golem naturally, on top of missing their doors and torches.

We recommend curing a few villagers and giving them time to settle in and sleep, since a golem will eventually spawn from a normal, functioning village the same way it always does.

My cured villager has no trades or profession

A naturally spawned zombie villager keeps its old profession for only a moment after being cured before becoming unemployed. To fix this, give them a nearby job site block to reclaim their profession back, since a villager only picks one up once it can physically reach it.

The seed page showed a pillager outpost inside the village

An outpost never generates too close to, or inside, a village on Java Edition, only on Bedrock Edition. If a source's screenshot shows one sitting inside the village walls, that seed was most likely generated on Bedrock instead.

My game crashes on startup after installing mods

A startup crash usually means one of three things:

  • The mod file does not match your Minecraft version.
  • The mod was made for a different loader.
  • A required dependency is missing.

Check that you installed the correct Forge, Fabric, Quilt, or NeoForge file for your profile, then look at the mod page for any required files, especially for Fabric API on Fabric profiles and for Quilted Fabric API on Quilt profiles.
