CurseForge December Newsletter - 2024 in Mods

Welcome to the CurseForge Newsletter for December 2024!

As 2025 approaches, we want to take a moment to reflect on what has been an incredible year in modding. CurseForge exploded this year with a plethora of new features, such as our new game pages, Minecraft direct launch from the app, CF premium on the website and app, Tremendous payout options (instant payouts!), new creation flow, better security measures for files, author affiliation program, and many, many more.

None of this would be possible without you—our talented authors and passionate players. Your creativity and dedication have made the CurseForge community a hub for innovation and collaboration. Supporting authors and helping modding become a viable profession remains our ultimate goal, and we’re so proud of the strides we’ve made together this year.

Let’s celebrate what we’ve accomplished and look forward to another exciting year ahead!

Our main topics of the month:

  1. 2024 in Mods
  2. Author Workshops

Author Workshops

We’re excited to share that our new Author Workshops initiative is officially underway! This community-driven project is designed to bring authors together to share insights, tools, and techniques, helping everyone grow their skills and improve their projects. These workshops offer a behind-the-scenes look at the creative processes of experienced authors, providing actionable tips and inspiration for others.

Our first workshop, led by MehVahdJukaar and Plantkillable (creators of the Supplementaries mod), focused on designing and implementing content for Minecraft mods. They shared how they blend their own ideas with community feedback, the tools they use to bring features to life, and their best practices for QA and balancing. A video of this workshop is coming soon for all who missed the opportunity to see it live on our Authors Discord.
