As you may have noticed, we recently added Windrose support to CurseForge!
Windrose is an exciting new pirate survival game, and while it doesn't have official modding support, there are already some incredible creations that the modding community has been working on!
This article will run through the two types of mods we currently support and how to properly upload them on CurseForge. This guide is designed to help mod authors ensure their mods are supported in the CurseForge app without issue and to allow players to easily discover and download their mods.
Mods
- First, visit the CurseForge Author Console and create your project, selecting the "Windrose" game: https://authors.curseforge.com/#/projects/create/choose-game
- Fill in all the necessary information, such as project name, project avatar, and summary.
- Importantly, select your "Class" as "Mods" – otherwise, your files may end up being rejected by our file processor.
- You can then create a description and add any relevant media to your project. Please visit our article on "How to Create the Best Project Page" for more details.
- And once you've done the above, it's time to upload your file to your project!
For the structure of your file, please follow the structure below:- It must be a zip file, with no files in the root directory
- In the root directory, you must have a folder (can be named the name of your mod)
- This folder will contain your mod files (at least one pak file mandatory, utoc and ucas files are optional)
- The file will then be submitted for review! After your first file is reviewed by our moderation team, it will be available for system/automatic file processing.
UE4SS Mods
If your mod uses UE4SS, please follow the instructions below. This ensures UE4SS is automatically installed for players who download your mod through the CurseForge app, making the installation process easier.
