Yes. PUBG includes built-in UGC tools for creating custom game modes, including object placement, match rules, teams, devices, scoring, spawns, and gameplay logic. 

What tools do I need to create PUBG custom modes?

All you need is PUBG’s built-in UGC Alpha editor. The "Edit Manager" lets you place objects, set up rules and teams, and connect devices to create gameplay logic – the creative part is all you, though!

What kinds of PUBG modes can I create?

PUBG already has an official lineup ranging from Battle Royale and Team Deathmatch to Intense Battle Royale matches. With that said, your own mode does not have to follow those formulas.

Some ideas to break the mold include:

• Combat modes: gunplay challenges, training courses, team battles, custom arenas, competitive modes, gun games, or capture the flag objectives.
• Survival modes: staying-alive challenges, PvE encounters, wave defense, co-op missions, or other pressure-based modes.

How do I make a custom PUBG mode?

Launch PUBG, go to "Play" → "Custom" → "UGC Alpha", create a room, and start the match. We also recommend setting up a password beforehand to prevent other players from joining before the mode is ready. Once you’re inside UGC, press "P" to open the "Edit Manager". From there, you can browse and place objects, change mode settings, and access special devices for building out the gameplay logic.

Which mode settings can I customize?

You can configure a variety of parameters, including round count and time limits, team assignment and team size, friendly fire, camera perspectives, respawning behaviour, inventory carryover rules, death boxes, spectators, custom object placement, and much more. You can also set your mode name, version, tags, description, and creator attribution before saving and uploading your creation for others to see.

How can I safely test a custom PUBG mode before publishing it?

You can easily test your changes through the integrated "Play" button within UGC. Enable "Fill Test Players" to populate teams for testing, use "AI Player Spawn" devices to test combat and scoring with bots, and enable logs to help pinpoint gameplay or object-placement issues. 

What to do if my mode stops working after a game update?

First, re-test the mode and check its rules, device connections, triggers, and saved settings. If the problem appears to be related to PUBG itself, verify the game files and check if the developer has made a post about  any update-related issues on their website.

Do I need a CurseForge account to publish a mode?

Yes, you need to sign in with a CurseForge account before you can publish your PUBG modes.

What should I include on my CurseForge project page?

We recommend going for a clear mode name, description, version, relevant tags, and creator attribution (if required), as well as giving a clear description of what players should expect from your mode as a whole. 

How long does it take for a submitted mode to go live?

Every submitted mode goes through extensive CurseForge moderation before publication. This could potentially lead to a delay of several days between submitting your project and seeing it published.

Can I publish more than one PUBG mode?

Yes, creators can publish and submit as many projects as they like, so feel free to bring as many ideas as you want to life!

What is PUBG: Playgrounds, and how can it help me as a creator?

PUBG: Playgrounds is a dedicated PC hub that gives your custom mode a chance to reach a much wider audience. On occasion, PUBG may select popular and entertaining modes based on custom match gameplay data such as total playtime and participation, as well as through community contests. 

Your mode could also be featured in the Playgrounds hub for all PUBG players to find and play. However, please note that direct submissions to Playgrounds are not currently permitted by the PUBG team.

Start by checking your rule settings and device connections, then test each affected asset or game mechanic separately until you can identify the issue.
