$21K+ in Modding Contests This Month

Three modding contests ran in June, with creators across WoW, inZOI, and Subnautica 2 all competing for prizes.

WoW Addon Trials launched this month, bringing $8,100 in prizes for addon creators building tools for The Midnight expansion. There are 20 winner slots - $2,500 for first place, down to $300 for places 4-10, with mid-contest bonuses along the way. Multiple entries are allowed, and submissions are open until July 5, so if you've been sitting on an addon idea, now's the time to build it! Enter the WoW Addon Trials

inZOI's Next Top Modder 2 wrapped up with a $10,000 prize pool, and the final winners have just been announced - 10 incredible category winners and 5 favorites selected by you. Congratulations to everyone who made it! See the Next Top Modder 2 results

Subnautica 2 Modding Contest wrapped up earlier this month with $3,000 in prizes. The community voted, and the winners have been decided - see who came out on top. See the Subnautica 2 results

What's New in the App

June brought a solid wave of updates across the app. Here are the ones worth knowing about.

🎮 Good news for everyone

Browse a modpack before you install it - You can now open a modpack's full Content tab - mods, resource packs, shaders, and more - before committing to the download. No more installing 300 mods only to find it's not what you were after.

Favorites tab on user profiles - A new Favorites tab lets you save and quickly get back to your go-to mods and projects.

Faster startup - Image galleries and 3D skin previews now load in the background, so the app gets you in faster!

⛏️ Minecraft players, this one's yours

Switch your skin between classic and slim - You can now toggle between the two skin model types directly in the app.

Contest winner skins are now in the default skin pack - The four winning skins from May's community contest - Curse & Forge (splatty), Copper Guy (slor), and Golden Fox (Foxxs) - are now available for everyone!

📦 Modpack authors, listen up

Java version override per modpack - You can now set a specific Java version per profile, and it travels with the pack on export and import. Players get the right Java automatically - no setup friction, no wrong-version errors.

Solarpunk Is Here - and We're Modding It

Solarpunk launched in June, and CurseForge is supporting modding for it from day one - mods are already available on the website and in the app.

The modding scene is just getting started, and a modding contest just launched with a prize pool of $3,000 for 14 winners. Come turn your Solarpunk ideas into reality!
