Rope is an alternative to ladders that hangs from the ceiling and allows safe descent. You can also place rope on top of tomatoes to allow them to grow higher and more efficiently. Make sure to check out the safety net as well, which softens your fall and can be useful for fast downward descents. Both rope and safety nets are crafted from straw, obtained from mining tall grass with a knife, or from chopping rice panicles on a chopping board.

Place a rope block directly above the tomato, the vine will climb the rope and produce extra tomato plant blocks that grow tomatoes. Make sure to harvest the tomatoes using right click (rather than breaking it) to make the most of this extra tomato growing capacity.

- Forage Wild Crops to kickstart farms. Wild crops spawn by biome/climate and drop seeds when broken, perfect to start plots. Villages can also have farms, but make sure to replant!
- Set up a Cooking Pot. Place a Cooking Pot over a heat source like a campfire, stove or magma then add up to six ingredients, depending on the recipe.
